vessel

V E S S E L

is a meditation on what it means to hold, and what it means to be a body compelled to do so in both the figurative and the literal. Aesthetically inspired by the ceramic tradition of China — particularly the blue and white porcelain of the Yuan dynasty and the celadon ware of the Song dynasty — this collection encounters the philosophy of the female, orientalism, appropriation and reappropriation, and the history of a craft that materializes the gestures that carry our daily.

Each VESSEL piece is an intimate reminder of presence and essence —
of what is contained and what is free to flow.
