Softly sinuous brass necklace, with 6mm sodalite or 6mm amazonite stone. Pendant is 43mm tall, including the stone, 10mm at widest point and 5mm thick, and is fixed on a 63cm sterling silver curb chain with a lobster clasp.

“Jingwei tries to fill the sea”Young Nüwa was swimming in the Eastern Sea, carefree and flowing — until she was unable to find the shore and drowned. She was then transformed into the bird guardian-spirit Jingwei, whose song recalls her new name. Each day, she carries a pebble or twig from the Western Mountains and drops it into the water — Jingwei is in perpetual assay; she is trying to fill up the Eastern Sea, so that no one would suffer her previous fate.
The Sea mocked her attempts — she will not be able to overwhelm the waters, even in a million years. Jingwei replied that she will persist for ten or even one hundred million years — she will confound even the unbounded.
